"Reset"

Dear 3MBC Family,

I pray this finds you hitting the reset God was speaking to us about in Isaiah 43:19 last Sunday.

Last week and this Sunday, we spent time in prayer, and I preached about God doing a new thing—often not on our timing but in the midst of our hard places. I told the story about grapes and bananas to remind us that sometimes fruitfulness requires separation from what causes decay, and I warned against maintaining the form of worship while forsaking our divine purpose. We recalled how exile and storms can be God’s way of resetting a people, and how the reset happens when we honestly examine ourselves, confess, reconcile, and tarry at the altar for a spiritual reboot.

So here’s my charge to you: before you come to the table, examine yourself—confess the secret things, go to the brother or sister you’re at odds with, and be reconciled. Remove yourself from the “bananas” that are rotting your fruit. Be willing to walk through the hard season trusting God to bring forth something new; keep praying, keep tarrying at the altar, and let the Holy Spirit reboot your soul.

Blessings,

Pastor B
